The Seeds apartment building is part of a larger residential development on a former bakery site.
The Seeds apartment building, part of the redevelopment of the former Tip Top bakery site on the corner of Lygon andWeston streets in Brunswick East, is complete and the final eight apartments remain for sale.
Built over five levels with 78 apartments in a curved design from Rothe Lowman architects that is reminiscent of the 1930s, Seeds is part of the wider ongoing project on the 1.22-hectare site that will feature 411 apartments and townhouses, open space, a cafe, retail outlet and a childcare centre.
Part of what will become an inner-urban community, Seeds is one of six buildings, including Grain, Stables, Malt, Rye and Silo, that reference the 70-year occupation by Tip Top bread manufacturers.
The redevelopment, from Little Projects, is retaining the brick façade and art deco stables while making use of the internal laneways where bakery horses once wandered by.
The laneways will connect the development to the wider community when the project is finished in July.
Seeds’ remaining apartments are all two bedroom with a choice of two floor plans.
They include timber floors in living areas, carpeted bedrooms and kitchens with pull-out pantries, stone benchtops, SMEG appliances and quality tap ware. All have built-in wardrobes and plenty of storage and the smart bathrooms have seamless screens and full-height tiling.
All are more than 70 square metres and have balconies or terraces of 19 square metres. Prices range from $586,000 to $624,000.
The city is less than 4 kilometres away and the apartments have basement parking and storage but the area is also rich with transport.
While Sydney Road’s restaurants and cafes are only a shortwalk to the west, the local Brunswick East cafe, restaurant and bar scene has
developed rapidly since Little Projects began this large development in 2009.
Atticus Finch, The Alderman and Kumo Izakaya are metres away on Lygon Street.
The completed Seeds apartments are available for inspection through Little Projects – Peter Susman, 0423 704 848, and a display suite for the overall project is open at 183 Weston Street, Brunswick East.
