Little Projects

Little Projects’ Central South Yarra lifestyle development reached a significant construction milestone on Wednesday 11 February 2015 with the completion of the 30 storey concrete structure.

The development team from Little Projects gathered at the top of the building to celebrate with workers onsite for a ‘topping out’ ceremony.

‘Topping out’ is a tradition which can be traced back to an ancient Scandinavian practice, where they would place a tree on the top of a new building structure to appease the tree-dwelling spirits of their ancestors that had been displaced throughout construction.  In recent times, it’s an informal ceremony held onsite to commemorate an important construction milestone.

To celebrate the ‘topping out’ of Central South Yarra, an olive tree was placed on the rooftop for three days to symbolise growth and bring luck to the development.

With the structure now complete and internal apartment fit-outs well underway, it’s only months until Little Projects will officially open the doors to residents with settlements anticipated to commence from mid-2015.

Michael Fox, Managing Director of Little Projects says “Today we celebrated the completion of the 30 level structure of Central South Yarra, which caps off another successful milestone for our landmark new development. The top level will transform over the coming months into an incredible world-class residents’ rooftop retreat”.

Located at 3 Yarra Street, South Yarra, Central residents will soon be able to enjoy the state-of-the-art private residents’ rooftop retreat featuring two expansive sky gardens, pool, well-being gymnasium, lounge, dining and kitchen.

“Central South Yarra sold out mid-2014, following in the footsteps of our award-winning ILK South Yarra development completed at 227 Toorak Road. We attribute much of Central’s success to its exceptional inner city location, uninterrupted city views, world-class amenity and high degree of connectivity” says Fox.

Central South Yarra will feature 357-apartments with a striking façade with gold detailing designed by ROTHELOWMAN and apartment interiors by Plus Architecture.
